He was buried on 26 September 1795 at Middletown, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Further information on him from 'Genealogy of the Sharples Family' by Gilbert Cope, printed in 1882. Joel Sharples and family received a certificate from Chester MO Mtg in Apr 1787 to Darby and remained in Upper Darby three years. Dy deed, dated 24 Mar 1790 he purchased from the executors of Richard Baker, 103 acres in Middletown, adjoining his father, for 516 pounds. The latter devised to him 95 acres, purchased of Thomas Griswell, subject to the payment.
