Leah Janse Schenck. John P. Covenhoven was born on 6 February 1740. He was baptized on 23 March 1740 at Dutch Reformed Church, Freehold-Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He married
Mary Jane McGalliard on 15 March 1770. John P. Covenhoven Served in Capt. Hunn's Company, First Regiment, Monmouth County Militia during the Revolutionary War circa 1778. In his will dated Apr 29, 1811, John P. Covenhoven of Freehold mentioned his sons William, Robert, and John; also daughters Elizabeth Robinson, and Leach Ten Eyck. The executors were sons William and Robert, and the witnesses Nathaniel and Joseph Rue, and Aaron Reed. He died on 24 December 1811 at age 71. He was buried at Old Tennent Church Cemetery, Tennent, Monmouth County, New Jersey. His estate was proved on 10 March 1812.
