     John P. Covenhoven was also known as Jan Cowenhoven. He was also known as John Conover. He was also known as John P. Cowenhoven. John P. Covenhoven was born on 6 January 1740. He was the son of Peter Cowenhoven and Leah Janse Schenck. John P. Covenhoven was born on 6 February 1740. He was baptized on 23 March 1740 at Dutch Reformed Church, Freehold-Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He married Mary Jane McGalliard on 15 March 1770. John P. Covenhoven Served in Capt. Hunn's Company, First Regiment, Monmouth County Militia during the Revolutionary War circa 1778. In his will dated Apr 29, 1811, John P. Covenhoven of Freehold mentioned his sons William, Robert, and John; also daughters Elizabeth Robinson, and Leach Ten Eyck. The executors were sons William and Robert, and the witnesses Nathaniel and Joseph Rue, and Aaron Reed. He died on 24 December 1811 at age 71. He was buried at Old Tennent Church Cemetery, Tennent, Monmouth County, New Jersey. His estate was proved on 10 March 1812.

     Mary Jane McGalliard was also known as Jane McGalliard. She was baptized on 23 January 1749. She was baptized on 26 March 1749 at Old Tennent Church, Tennent, Monmouth County, New Jersey. She married John P. Covenhoven, son of Peter Cowenhoven and Leah Janse Schenck, on 15 March 1770. Mary Jane McGalliard died on 14 August 1798 at age 49. She was buried at Old Tennent Church, Tennent, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

She and Albert Covenhoven obtained a marriage license on 21 November 1765 at Monmouth County, New Jersey. Patience Covenhoven married Albert Covenhoven, son of Peter Covenhoven and Willempie Voorhees, on 1 December 1765, they wer cousins. Patience Covenhoven died on 8 March 1826 at New York at age 83. She was buried at Glen Cemetery, Glen, Montgomery County, New York.
