     Simon Van Ness was born in 1666 at Greenbush, Albany County, New York. He was the son of Hendrick Cornelisse Van Ness and Annatie Everts Pels. Simon Van Ness was born in 1670 at Schnectady, Schenectady County, New York. He He was commissioned an Ensgn in the Albany County Militiad dur the French and Indian troubles. He was one of those who pursued the French and their Indian ally after the attack on Schnectady, Feb. 9, 1690 between 1690 and 1691 at Albany County, New York. He married Rachel Van Deusen before 1693. Simon Van Ness and Rachel Van Deusen resided at at New York City, New York County, New York, circa 1694. Simon Van Ness and Rachel Van Deusen Membership transfered from the church at New York to the church at Acquackanonk, NJ at Dutch Reformed Church, Acquackanonk, Passaic County, New Jersey, 3 October 1698. Simon Van Ness married Hester Delamater, daughter of Isaac LeMaitre and Cornelia Evertse Van Ness, on 15 January 1700/1 at New York City, New York County, New York. Simon Van Ness along with others purchased land from the Indians at Fairfield, NJ on 1 May 1701 at Fairfield, Essex County, New Jersey. He and Hester Delamater resided at at Fairfield, Essex County, New Jersey, circa 1702. Simon Van Ness died before 4 October 1733 at Fairfield, Essex County, New Jersey.
