Henry LaFayette Shoch (291807) was born on September 28, 1824 Frankford, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Henry Lafayette was born prematurely the day Gen. Lafayette arrived at the Jolly Post Inn in Frankford, right across from the Shoch farm. He was a carpenter and builder, who went to Gloucester Co., NJ with brother Lewis and brother-in-law Francis Ballentine, but eventually returned to Frankford to remain. He operated an inn in New Jersey before returning to Philadelphia to continue his builders trade. He was a veteran of the Civil War He is buried in Lot 150V
in North Cedar Hill. His children by Elizabeth Cooper were Henry Cooper and Elizabeth, and children by Rebecca Conover were Lewis Castor, James Ray, Anna E., Rebecca, and William Martin.
