William Henry Harrison's left a will on Feb 17, 1885 at Grant County, Indiana.
In the name of God, Amen, I William H. H. Reeder, of Grant County and State of Indiana, considering the uncertainty of mortal life, and being of sound and disposing mind, and being desirous of directing how my estate, real and personal, shall be disposed after my decease, do make and publish this my last will and testament; and first, I command my soul to God, and my body to the earth, to be buried in a decent Christian way, without ostentation or extravagant expense.
And as to my earthly estate, real, personal, or mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I may be entitled at the time of my decease, I do devise and bequeath to Elizabeth Reeder, my lawful, faithful and beloved wife, all my estate, real and personal and otherwise to have, hold, and use during her natural lifetime; instructing and empowering her, however, to sell, as soon as advisable in her judgment, as much of said estate as may be necessary to pay all just and lawful debts against said estate, and to defray my funeral, burial and monumental expenses, and instructing her to pay, as soon as practicable thereafter, said debts and expenses, and to the end that the provisions of this, my last will and testament, may be carried out, and my estate put into the best possible position and shape, I hereby give to Elizabeth Reeder, my own lawful wife, full power (and endow her with the same) to execute and carry out the provisions of this Will and Testament, during her natural lifetime, fully authorizing and empowering her to sell any or all of said estate, by public or private sale, at her discretion as to mode and as to prices, and to make and execute such in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana may admit or require for any oral of said real estate thus sold to pay for purchasing the same, this my last will and testament, also providing that said Elizabeth Reeder, my beloved wife, shall have full power to invest, as she shall see fit, any and all funds accrued from the sale, or sales, of any or all my said estate, (over and above the amount necessary to pay the debts and expenses mentioned in the foregoing); but funds so invested shall through all her natural lifetime, and at her death remain subject to the inheritance of my children as herein after named and provided for, except so much of the same as shall be needed for her personal, comfortable and decent maintenance which shall be for her use, and at her disposal, in both income and capital.
I also further desire and bequeath all my estate, real and personal or mixed, and the proceeds of the same, which shall remain after expenses in the maintenance of my beloved wife in her natural lifetime and in providing for her funeral, burial and monumental expenses, to my own lawful and dutiful children, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Broyles, Mrs. Eliza Catherine Broyles, William Henry Harrison Reeder, Flora M. Reeder, and Robert Braden Reeder, to be shared equally by them, and to belong to them and their heirs and their assigns forever.
I hereby declare the foregoing to be my last will and testament, contained on one sheet of paper, and solemnly enjoin on all interested in the same to harmonize with its provisions:

The obituary was written by Bishop Milton Wright, a nephew of the deceased, and was read at the funeral held at the home. The Sermon was preached by Rev. Garretson of the M. E. Church.
Wm. Henry Harrison Reeder, Sr., son of George and Margaret Reeder, was born in Centerville, Montgomery County, Ohio, on November 15, 1813. Nine years later his parents removed to Rush Co., Indiana, where he lived with little absence, till his marriage on 8-27-1847 to Miss Elizabeth Dealy of Decatur Co., Indiana, with whom he has lived happily and without undiminished affection for thirty-eight years.
A few months after his marriage he settled in Grant Co., Indiana, on land which he had entered about ten years before and where he continued to live with a one year absence till his decease.
He leaves a widow, five children, a number of grandchildren, an only surviving sister and other relatives and friends stricken with the grief over their sad bereavement. Warm were his affections and he did not fail to have them warmly reciprocated by his own faithful wife and dutiful children.
A beloved son died at the age of fourteen years, and a lovely daughter years ago passed on.
Much candor and great sincerity distinguished Mr. Reeder from his childhood years, but these were accompanied with pure and innocent mirth, that, joined fine conversational powers, and a very sympathetic heart, they made him the light of any social circle into which he entered.
A quick and penetrating mind, a sound careful judgment; a quick and firm conscience, an honesty unimpeachable, a deep love for truth and the right, and a like hatred for the wrong, a generosity even to self-sacrificing, sacred reverence for God and religion, love of home and country, and a lively affection for relatives and friends were characteristics of Mr. Reeder, and of his whole life.
His death occurred a few minutes before midnight June 24th A. D., 1885 in the 72nd year of his age.
About two years since, he was afflicted with cancer on his lip, of several years existence, but which at last began to grow. This yielded to treatment, but the disease after lying one year dormant, took hold of his throat and made its inexplorable demand for his life. He has just now yielded up his life to that dreaded monster and his soul to God, in hope of the resurrection and of life everlasting.
Many years before his death, he experienced the power of saving grace. But he made the mistake of not connecting himself with the visible church and, as a consequence, did not enjoy, in these and subsequent years, that degree of grace or maintain that abiding steadfastness which otherwise might have been his.
In his last months, he often said, "I know I have not lived as I ought to have lived." Sometimes this may sound dark: but his faith in God failed not, and he often expressed the fullest resignation to a Divine will.
But he expressed strong desire to live that he might live a better life and that he might obey the commandments of God. He seemed to refer to connection with the church and the observance of the ordinances of God's house.
He expressed strong desire that his children should none of them put off duty as he had done, but live better lives than he has lived. But a number of times he expressed full resignation to the will of God and confidence that all would be well with him eternally. He trusted not in his own merits, but in the merits of the Savior's atonement. His was that righteousness which is by faith. He knew the power of living, loving faith. "He that believeth in the Son is not condemned", says the Savior. "He that believeth in the Son hath everlasting life" says John the Baptist. "Therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed", says Paul. "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him" says the Apostle John. And the same apostle says, "Everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God."
Seeing then as James says that "God purifies the heart by faith", that " faith which worketh by love" let us like the Apostle Paul fight "the good fight" and keep "the faith" that we may have "an entrance abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." - Amen.
In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 17th day of February in the year of our Lord, 1885.

Elizabeth Dealy
F, #82140, b. Dec 29, 1824, d. Apr 6, 1892
Elizabeth Dealy was born on Dec 29, 1824. Elizabeth married William Henry Harrison Reeder, son of George Huff Reeder and Margaret Benham Van Cleve, on Aug 17, 1847. Elizabeth Dealy died on Apr 6, 1892 at age 67.
In Memoriam
Mrs. Elizabeth Reeder's maiden name was Dealy. Her father, Wm. N. Dealy (it is thought a native of New York) migrated from Tennessee to North Carolina and married there Mary Lizzie Daner, and afterwards removed to Madison County, Kentucky, where Mrs. Reeder was born on December 29, 1824. When she was about six years of age, her parents moved to Decatur County, Indiana, where she came to the years of womanhood under the parental roof, and received a fair education. While engaged as a schoolteacher, she was first seen by William H. H. Reeder and at once gained his admiration and affection; and they were married at her father's residence on August 27, 1847. They lived happily in each other's confidence and affection till the husband's death, June 24, 1885, nearly 38 years.
For a few years past, Mrs. Reeder has had some threatening attacks of sickness and has been especially bad the past year. Finally after nearly three weeks of severe sickness, she breathed her last, at her home, the evening of May 6, 1892, aged sixty-seven years, 4 months, and 7 days.
A few months after their marriage Mr. And Mrs. Reeder came to this home where except one year away, they remained until death, and where they well deserved the confidence and esteem of all who were acquainted with them.
To Mr. And Mrs. Reeder were born four daughters and three sons. One son and one daughter preceded them to the spirit land. The surviving three daughters and two sons are all married and live in this and Delaware Counties. Her children were almost constantly with her in her last sickness and possible for her relief and comfort, and are here today as mourners over the loss of a most faithful and affectionate mother whom they appreciated and dearly loved, and with them in like grief are gathered a number of her grandchildren.
In her youth, Mrs. Reeder became a member of the Church of United Brethren in Christ; but for some reason she soon after united with the Disciples Church (Christian) of which she continued a member till after her removal to this county, when she received a letter of good standing which she retained until her death, never further uniting with any church organization, though all these years a devout believer.
She talked in her last sickness of her trust in God and confident hope of heaven. We have no reason to doubt here acceptance with God.
In her last sickness she often expressed her desire to die. Her sufferings were very severe, but at the close, she went almost without a struggle. She died in the bosom of her family and rests from life's tolls and sufferings.
It is not to be asserted that Mrs. Reeder had none of the weaknesses and infirmities of soul which are common inheritance of all the human family. But such was the strength of her character, that these certainly almost or entirely escaped common observation - if they were ever manifested at all.
Among Mr. Reeder's striking characteristics were integrity, good sense, and womanly dignity. In all these qualities she excelled. She was modest, unassuming and very humble in spirit, but a native dignity dwelt within her soul, clothed her form, sat upon her countenance and spoke in her words and actions. With her it was perfectly natural. It could not have been otherwise. She was discreet and thoughtful in speech and action. She had a loving confiding heart. Unfailing kindness was one of her characteristics. No one was a truer friend.
Her confidence, if fairly won, could not be shaken, and her friendship was as uniform as it was unfailing. In uprightness of purpose, and life, she never failed, nor did she seem to have any temptation to deviate from the path of rectitude.
All of her conversation and life evinced her undeviating confidence in the truth of the Christian religion. She never uttered a word or did an act that admitted of any other view. One could not be with her at any time without feeling that she was experimentally acquainted with Christianity. Her spirit, her manner, her conversation, and her life seem imbued with it. She was far from being loud in her profession; but her conversation, and deportment, were the loudest kind of profession. One could not have taken her for anything else than a devout believer in Christ.
In conversation with her, in her last sickness she expressed her confident trust in God; but also her sense of the fact that she had done so little good. All might say the same, and with so much good reason. But a good wife, a good mother, an irreproachable Christian woman cannot live a long life in any family and in any community, without doing much good.
A star shines none the less brightly because it does not see its own silvery beams. I have been acquainted with Aunt Reeder for forty-four years and much of that time intimately, and I am sure there was never a blot on her character. Her character was unusually consistent. Thus I have seen her. She was an amiable woman, a womanly woman, and a grand woman.
Mrs. Reeder was human. Her human nature was well developed and we love her the more that it was so. Our sympathies do not go out toward angels. I am talking of her as a human being - a pure and noble woman. At best we are saved only by grace; and
rightly she felt that she had no merit to boast. Her views of herself in the sight of God were very humble.
Aunt was a woman of patient toil; she suffered not a little of the infirmities of this life; she gradually neared the grave; she rests from life's toils and pains and sorrows. God giveth her blessed sleep. Aunt was domestic. Her sphere was in the home and family. Her husband and her children lived in her heart. And so she lives yet in the hearts of those who survive her, and ever will live. May they all initiate her virtues and share her home above.
It may be thought that I speak of her strongly; If so, I may say that in over two score years of acquaintance, I have no recollection of anything in her life that would permit me to speak otherwise. Her undeviating kindness to me would furnish ample apology, if any were needed, but none is needed.
We lay away Aunt's weary body where she will rest beside the companion of her youth, so dearly loved. Never hearts loved more promptly nor more abidingly. In life they were one; in death they are not divided, and we confidently hope that their souls together are now enjoying the heavenly inheritance. They were much unlike each other and yet they were much alike in many noble characteristics. Their characters are a rich inheritance to their children.

Lorin Wright died on Dec 1, 1939 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, at age 77. Lorin was buried at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
He spent time on the Kansas frontier, then attended Hartville College, IN in 1882. He worked as a bookkeeper for a carpet store in Dayton, OH. He married Ivonette Stokes in 1892 and had 4 children, Milton, Ivonette, Leontine, and Horace. In 1893, he worked for Wilbur and Orville in their print shop, and in 1900 helped Katharine manage the Wright Cycle company while their brothers were in Kitty Hawk. He also started a "street sprinkling" business to help make some extra money. Before 1900, there were less than 12 miles of paved streets in Dayton and street sprinkling was necessary to keep the dust down in dry weather. He visited Wilbur and Orville at Kitty Hawk in 1902, notified the press in 1903 after their first powered flights, and loaned them his barn to build the machine that eventually became the first United States military aircraft. In 1911, he helped test the first airplane autopilot and in 1915, he spied on Glenn Curtiss to gather information for the Wright patent suit against the rival airplane manufacturer. After Orville sold the Wright Company, Lorin bought an interest in Miami Wood Specialties, the company manufactured a toy that Orville designed. He also was a City Commissioner in Dayton.

Orville Wright was born on Aug 19, 1871 at 7 Hawthorne St., Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He was the son of Rev. Milton Bishop Wright and Susan Catherine Koerner. Orville Wright died on Jan 30, 1948 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, at age 76; from his second heart attack. Orville was buried at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
Orville Wright, born 1871, died 1948. Orville was a good student during his elementary school years, but his grades suffered as he grew older and developed other outside interests. He loved carving and printing from woodcuts, and he apprenticed himself to a printer during the summer months after his family moved to Dayton. In 1889, the year his mother died, Orville decided not to return for his senior year of high school. Instead, he began printing his own newspaper, The West Side News, and enlisted his brother Wilbur as the editor. Later, he changed the weekly newspaper to a daily and called it The Evening Item. The Item folded after just a few months, Orville became a partner with Wilbur in a printing company, a bicycle repair shop, and a bicycle manufacturing company. In 1896, the brothers became interested in aviation. They performed their first aeronautical experiments with kites in 1899, then built a series of gliders through 1902, developing an aerodynamic control system for airplanes while teaching themselves to fly. They added an engine to their aircraft in 1903 and made the first controlled, sustained powered flights on December 17 of that year. They continued to refine their invention until it was what they considered a "practical" airplane. They made the first public flights in this machine before a group of Dayton residents on October 4, 1905. In 1908, they sold airplanes to the US Army and to a French syndicate, and demonstrated them to the public at large. The Wright brothers organized a company to manufacture airplanes in 1909, with Wilbur as the President. When Wilbur died of typhoid in 1912, Orville reluctantly took over the company. He sold the company in 1915 and retired to follow his own interests. He was a consulting engineer on the first guided missile (the "buzz bomb") during World War 1 and was the co-inventor of "split flaps" used on dive bombers in World War 2. He was a lifelong board member on the National Advisory Council on Aeronautics (NACA), which later became NASA -- the National Air and Space Administration. Much of his energies in his later years were spent protecting and preserving the honor that he and his brother Wilbur had earned in developing the first true airplanes.

Katharine Wright was born on Aug 19, 1874 at 7 Hawthorne St., Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Rev. Milton Bishop Wright and Susan Catherine Koerner. Katharine married Henry Joseph Haskell, son of Henry C. Haskell and Margaret Bell (Unknown), on Nov 20, 1926. Katharine Wright died on Mar 3, 1929 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, at age 54; pnemonia. Katharine was buried at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
Katharine Wright, born 1874, shared her birthday with Orville Wright. She took her mother's place as head of the Wright household when she was just 15 and continued to serve as the mistress of the Wright house until 1926. She was the only one of the Wright children to finish college. She got her teaching degree from Oberlin College in 1898 and began teaching classical literature at Steele High School in Dayton, Ohio. She took a leave of absence from her teaching post when Orville was badly injured in an airplane accident in 1908 and never went back. She nursed Orville back to health, traveled to France with him to join their brother Wilbur, and flew with Wilbur in France for the first time. Thereafter, she was involved in her brothers' airplane business and was made an officer of the Wright Company in 1912 when Wilbur died. After Orville sold the Wright Company in 1915, she continued to live with him until 1926. A chance meeting with an old college friend, Henry Haskell, sparked a romance late in her life and she decided to marry for the first time. Orville was enraged; he could not imagine life without Katharine and refused to come to the wedding. Henry and Katharine lived in Kansas City were he was editor of the Star newspaper. Two years after she married, Katharine contracted pneumonia. When she was on her deathbed, Lorin Wright managed to talk his brother Orville into making amends. Orville traveled to Kansas City and was with Katharine when she died in 1929.
