Walter 'Bud' Glen Fargo 1914 - 2004

TOPEKA - Walter "Bud" Glen Fargo, 89, Topeka and formerly of Chanute, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at St. Francis Health Center, Topeka.

He was born Feb. 5, 1914, in Topeka, the son of William H. and Jennie E. Elder Fargo.

He lived in Chanute, Arkansas City and Emporia before moving back to Topeka in 1984.

He was a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years, retiring in 1977.

He served in the Kansas State Guard from 1946 to 1947.

He was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge No. 555, the Eagle Aerie No. 58 and the Santa Fe Railroad machinist union.

On June 4, 1936, he married Mary E. Anderson in Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, William "Bill" O. Fargo, Bedford, Texas; two daughters, Linda Lou Donovan, Topeka, and Mary Ann Stout Schneider, Carbondale; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Half-Day Cemetery, Topeka.

Visitation is after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Oakland United Methodist Church, Topeka, may be left with the funeral home.

Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608, is in charge of arrangements.
