     Vincent Garret Moore In April, 1861 he joined Bates Grays, Company G, 2nd Virginia Regiment L. S, whiuch was a part of Gen. Thomas J. Jackson's Brigade known as "The Stone Wall," which participated in the first battle of Manassas, and the Sheandoah Valley campaign up to June 1862. He the joined Company A, 12th Virginia Cavalry, and served under Gen. Jeb Stuart, Wade Hampton Commanding, until the surrender of April 1865, which included all of the cavalry service during that time in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. During this time he was also a courier for Gen. A. P. Hill, and in the fall of 1864, as a csout in the Valley of Virginia, was captured in December and taken to Point Lookout, Maryland and was released in June 1865 after the surrender. He resided at at Kearneysville, Virgina, circa 1909.

     Mary married Vincent Garret Moore, son of James Vincent Moore and Phebe Ann Voorhees, on Nov 19, 1888; no issue.

      Ida Van Liew was born on Oct 3, 1789. She was the daughter of Frederick Van Liew and Elizabeth Van Dyke. FUNERAL TODAY

Funeral service was held today at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel for Minnie Mae Rone, 95, of Cross Plains. Miss. Rone died Monday at 1 p.m. at Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood, Texas.

Burial will be in the Dressy Cemetery under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home.

Officiating the final rites will be Charles Butler, minister of the Cross Plains Church of Christ.

Born September 4, 1888 in Dallas County, she had farmed and ranched with her family in the Dressy community for most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Crockett of Brownwood and Bernice McDaniel of Colorado City, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Frank Ferrell, Troy Crockett, Olan Lee, Delmar McDaniel, Foy Crockett and Weldon Crockett.

      Elizabeth Lucreatia Rone was born on Nov 17, 1890 at Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas. She was the daughter of James H. Rone and Sarah Cynthia Crownover. Elizabeth Lucreatia Rone died on Nov 7, 1972 at Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas, at age 81. Elizabeth was buried at Dressy Cemetery, Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas.

Funeral service was held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday from Higginbotham Funeral Chapel here for Elizabeth Rone, 81 year old lifelong resident of Cross Plains.
She died at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday of last week in the Callahan County Hospital in Baird following a four month illness.
Audy Moore, minister of the Church of Christ in Cross Plains officiated the final rites.
Burial was in the Dressy Cemetery under the direction of Higginbothams.
Miss. Rone was born on November 17, 1890 in Cross Plains and she had lived here all her life. She was a member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ.
Survivors are four sisters, Minnie Rone of Cross Plains, Mrs. C. S. Crockett and Mrs. A. T. Crockett, both of Brownwood and Mrs. Bernice McDaniel of Colorado City, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Rickey Carouth, Troy Crockett, Maurice Crockett, Olan Lee, Rex McDaniel, and Delmar McDaniel.

      John Wesley Rone was born on Sep 4, 1892 at Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas. He was the son of James H. Rone and Sarah Cynthia Crownover. John Wesley Rone died on Dec 7, 1971 at Temple, Bell County, Texas, at age 79. John was buried at Dressy Cemetery, Cross Plains, Callahan County, Texas.

John W. Rone, 79, lifetime resident of Cross Plains, died Tuesday night in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple after a 10 day illness.
Funeral was held in 2 P.M. Thursday in Higginbothams Funeral Chapel with Audy Moore pastor of the Cross Plains Church of Christ officiating.
Burial was in the Dressy Cemetery.
Born September 4, 1892, in Cross Plains, Mr. Rone was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include five sisters, Miss. Minnie Rone and Miss. Elizabeth Rone, both of Cross Plains, Mrs. A. T. Crockett and Mrs. C. S. Crockett both of Brownwood and Mrs. Bernice McDaniel of Colorado City.
